The Longest Day Fundraiser

This year, the Northbridge Companies’ eight open communities participated in The Alzheimer’s Association’s Longest Day Fundraiser. Named after the Summer Solstice – the day the event is held – is the longest day of the year, which means the most sunlight, activity, fun, and laughter we can have in one solitary day, and June 21, 2014 was exactly that. Our teams from each community throughout New England came together to honor the strength, passion, and endurance of those facing Alzheimer’s.

Our communities took it upon themselves to reach a goal of fundraising $200 per community, making a Northbridge goal of $1,600. We were blown away by the support and selflessness of each community we are a part of, and exceeded our goal by raising $6,226! Every community had their own fun idea to help raise money, from BBQs to a Haircut-a-thon, and everything in between.

During all the fun, we took a moment and realized how incredible it felt to come together not only as a company, but as a country to help bring an end to this heartbreaking disease. As we eagerly await next year’s Longest Day fundraiser, we want to thank everyone who came out and donated, participated, and celebrated this special day with us.
